The Pembrokeshire Herald has launched a petition campaign to restore public access to the Blue Lagoon Water Park, and we need your support!
The Blue Lagoon Water Park was created with an investment of nearly £1.9 million from the Pembrokeshire County Council, with the intention of allowing members of the public to enjoy the facilities, not just the guests of the resort. However, after just over a decade, the decision was made to revoke public access to the resort, meaning that only those who book a holiday at the resort can access any of the facilities.
A closed-doors meeting in 2019 determined that local residents would no longer be able to use any of the activities at the resort unless they were residents of the resort. This decision was made despite public funds of £1.9 million being used, and it was agreed upon by Pembrokeshire County Council.
The local community is outraged by this decision and rightfully so. The investment was made with the understanding that the public would have access to the facilities. Therefore, we are calling on all concerned citizens to support our petition to restore public access to the Blue Lagoon Water Park.
The Pembrokeshire Herald is leading this campaign to ensure that public funds are used in a manner that benefits the community. We believe that every member of the community should have access to the Blue Lagoon Water Park, regardless of their financial status or residency.
