League 3 West A: Lampeter and St Clears pick up victories

LAMPETER Town and St Clears both picked up wins in League 3 West A on Saturday (Apr 8) as they continued their quest for the league title and promotion to the higher divisions.

Lampeter earned a 63-19 win at home against Laugharne with Meirion Lloyd scoring a hat trick of tries. Bowden scored twice and there were also tries for Guto Ebbsworth and Osian Jones.

Jones added six conversions and two penalties as the league leaders completed a comprehensive win.

St Clears remain hot on their heels after they beat Aberaeron 36-13.

Haverfordwest closed the gap to the top four as they beat Llanybydder 52-10 and Cardigan were big winners also as they beat Llangwm 81-5.

Neyland also picked up another win on Saturday as they beat St Davids 26-21. Ben Williams scored twice for the Pembrokeshire All Blacks and Jack Harries also scored one. The rest of the points (11) came from the boot of George Evans.

For the Saints, Luke Bamford, Owen Lewis and Bob Froy all scored tries and Aaron Foster added the penalties.

Pembroke Dock Quins also earned fourth win of the season, winning 22-39 away in Tregaron.
