Pembrokeshire All-Blacks earn win in Cardigan

NEYLAND earned their fifth win of the season on Saturday (Jan 7) as they beat Cardigan 20-3.

Both sides were playing their first game since December 10 and the strong winds did not make things easy for either.

It was the Pembrokeshire side who got the lead with a try from Luke Griffiths-Dawes, which was then converted by Ollie Rothero.

Llyr Jones landed a penalty for the home side but at half time it was Neyland who held the 7-3 lead.

Just after the break, Neyland scored their second try as Patrick Bellerby, who had come on for Henry McBeth, touched down for an unconverted try, stretching the All Blacks’ lead to nine points.

Rothero then added another penalty and with eight minutes to go the game was all but safe as Neyland went over for their third try of the game. Jack Harries touched the ball down and Rothero added the extras again to complete the scoring.

They were unable to find a score which would have given them a bonus point but the win for Neyland sees them stay in sixth place in League 3 West A.

On Saturday, January 14, Cardigan host Pembroke Dock Quins while Neyland travel to Llanybydder.
