Tish fight back to earn a point against Merlins Bridge

MERLINS BRIDGE missed the chance to move back to the top of the Pembrokeshire League on Saturday (Feb 4) as they were held to a 2-2 draw by St Ishmaels.

The Wizards had earned a 6-1 win in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and it had looked as if they were on their way to another win on Saturday.

Jordan Richards put the Wizards ahead in the eighth minute and Sam Christopher doubled the lead shortly before half time.

However, two goals in as many minutes in the second half brought Tish level.

Joel Morgan scored first twenty minutes in and Kieran Rendell then scored to make it 2-2.

With fifteen minutes to go Jordan Richards was sent off after receiving a second yellow card but neither side was able to find a winning goal.

The points moves the Bridge level on points with leaders Goodwick while Tish are now level on points with third from bottom Pennar Robins.

On Saturday, February 11, St Ishmaels host Clarbeston Road in Division 1 action.

Merlins Bridge take a break from league action as they visit Kilgetty for Senior Cup quarter final clash.
