Wizards extend lead at the top of Division 1

MERLINS Bridge extended their lead at the top of Division 1 of the Pembrokeshire League on Saturday (Dec 3) as they beat Neyland 7-0 at the Pembrokeshire Sports Village.

The Bridge went into the game on the back of their excellent win over Goodwick the previous week while Neyland were looking to halt a run of four straight defeats in all competitions.

Richard Hughes opened the scoring in the eighth minute and Matthew D’Ivry added the Wizards’ second four minutes before half time.

Ben Davies added the home side’s third shortly before the hour mark and he scored again eight minutes later to make it 4-0.

The Wizards were then given a penalty and Davies converted from the spot to complete his hat trick.

Sam Christopher and Jordan Williams completed the scoring late on as they moved six points clear of second-placed Goodwick United.
