AROUND 100 people from all walks of life have come together to help plan how organisations in Swansea can put human rights at the centre of all they do.

In December Swansea was declared Wales’ first Human Rights City.

This month an engagement event was held at the Swansea.com stadium which saw young people, businesses, charities and public sector organisations come together to plan how they can play their part.

It involved presentations, discussions and workshops that will now form part of an action plan.

Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Human Rights and Equalities, Elliott King said: “I was delighted to see so many people from diverse backgrounds and across the age range attend and work together so we can make a successful Human Rights City here in Swansea.

“There was a real sense of common purpose and some thought provoking ideas and discussions as to how we embed in human rights in our day to day services and activities.”
