Honouring staff for their outstanding service to Sancta Maria Hospital

STAFF at a Swansea hospital have been celebrated for their years of loyalty, dedication, and valued contribution.

More than 30 members of staff at Sancta Maria Hospital received Long Service Awards, which recognise team members who have been with the organisation for a significant amount of time and continually put patients at the centre of everything they do.

Sancta Maria Hospital provides treatments and procedures for a range of specialists including orthopaedics, cardiology, gynaecology and gastroenterology.

Staff receiving the awards have been with the Healthcare Management Trust, which manages Sancta Maria, for 35, 20, 15, five and three years.

Among those celebrated this year, were Belinda Hughes, Senior Staff Nurse, who has worked for the Trust for 35 years, and Somsri Rees, a Catering Assistant and Martin Harper, a Facilities Operative, who have both been at Sancta Maria for 20 years.

Andrew Willcocks, Executive Director of Clinical Care and Acute Services at HMT, presented each member of staff with a special certificate and voucher.

He said: “I was delighted to present this year’s Long Service Awards to colleagues at Sancta Maria, whose unwavering commitment ensures high standards of care for all our patients.

“These awards provide a valuable opportunity to recognise the dedication and impactful contributions our staff make in delivering exceptional service to our local community.”
