Threatened Tenby bus service given last minute reprieve

A much-needed bus service that was destined to reach the end of the road later this month has been thrown a last-minute lifeline.

The 351 and 352 bus routes that connect Amroth, Saundersfoot and Kilgetty were scheduled to cease functioning at the end of April.

But now, following an outcry from local residents who depend on the service to travel from Tenby to Pendine and from Ryeland Lane in Kilgetty to Tenby, the bus company, Taf Valley Coaches, has confirmed that the service will now continue.

“This is fantastic news for the community as both of those bus routes are extremely important for people who need to attend doctor and dental appointments as well as a host of other requirements,” commented Cllr Alistair Cameron who has been one of the key instigators in retaining the service.

“A petition has been circulating for some time, requesting that the service continues and now, thanks to Taf Valley Coaches, it has been recognised just how crucial these bus routes are to the area.”

Cllr Cameron said that the number of buses operating along both routes are expected to be reduced. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.
