Neyland Carnival 2023 looks set to beat all others!

Neyland Carnival looks set to return in splendour in 2023

WHEN it comes to hosting a carnival, Neyland rises to the challenge like no other.

And the carnival committee is already hard at work to ensure that this year’s  event will be every bit as good as those that have gone before…if not better!

“The carnival is one of the highlights of the year for the people of Neyland and as a result, we’re determined to do our very best to ensure that this year’s event will meet the very high standards that everyone expects,” commented carnival committee member, Cllr Simon Hancock.

True to tradition, this year’s event will take place on the second Saturday of July, with the result that the 2023 event will take place on July 8.

Neyland Carnival has enjoyed a long and colourful history, after the first carnival was staged way back in 1922.

“As a result, last year’s carnival, which marked the hundredth anniversary, was an astounding success, “continued Cllr Hancock.

“Thousands of people lined the streets and some really high quality floats and pedestrians turned out to enjoy the day.”

And as a result of last year’s success, over £3,000 was distributed to over 20 local charities.

If anyone is interested in getting involved in helping to organise and plan this year’s carnival, they’re asked to attend the next meeting which will take place at the Neyland Hub on March 13 at 7.30pm.
