Sandy Bear to hold family fun day at Carew Castle in June

SANDY BEAR, the children’s bereavement charity, is holding their annual Family Fun Day at Carew Castle on June 10, marking their third consecutive year at the venue. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority has generously provided the Castle to the charity to celebrate their sixth year of operation. The event will take place from 10:00 to 16:00.

Local companies and organizations have stepped up to support the cause, with Valero Energy providing a marquee and Pure West Radio, who selected Sandy Bear as their 2022/2023 Charity of the Year, promoting the event and broadcasting live.

The primary objective of the day is to raise awareness of Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity and secure funds to provide resources to children, young adults, and families receiving support from the charity. The resources aim to help families understand and manage their grief while allowing them to remember their loved ones.

Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity will be welcoming past and current clients to the event to build on existing relationships. The event is open to the public with an entrance fee, providing an opportunity for visitors to learn about the charity’s work within the county.

The charity has arranged for various activities, workshops, and performances from guests in Pembrokeshire, with the county’s emergency services also in attendance. They will showcase their positive contributions to the county and provide entertainment for families. The day will include musical performances, craft activities, storytelling, a teddy bear hunt, a teddy bear picnic, and a chance to meet Sandy Bear. Information on the event is being shared on the charity’s social media platforms in the weeks leading up to it.

Hannah Beer, Charity Coordinator at Sandy Bear, expresses her excitement for running the summer event each year, with this year’s celebration of their sixth anniversary being particularly special. She also expresses gratitude for the support from various organizations within the county.

Daisy Hughes, Visitor Services Manager at Carew Castle, is thrilled to be a part of the event and encourages families to attend and support Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity.
