Penhein launches ‘private chef’ wild gourmet dining experiences for glampers

Penhein Glamping

PENHEIN, the glampsite offering luxury Persian Alachigh tents in Monmouthshire, is introducing a whole host of wild gourmet dining options for their guests this summer including private chef and foraging experiences.

Glampers will no longer have to settle for sausages and beans every night now that there are some stellar new foodie experiences lined up for the season ahead. Available for couples, families and larger groups the wild gourmet dining offerings aim to take the ‘self catering’ out of glamping, at least for a night or two.

Each experience can be booked on a tailor made basis and can include foraging, fire pit feasting and even incorporate an element of tuition on how to cook successfully over fire for future glamping trips.

Gourmet Feast and Forage – Couples and Groups

This fully immersive new Gourmet Feast and Forage experience with acclaimed forager Chloe Newcomb Hodgetts will see glampers learning about a variety of edibles whilst exploring the woodland, meadows and hedgerows of the farm, followed by a foraged feast. Depending on the month there may be fruits or fungi, foliage or flowers, herbs, vegetables, roots & spices to find, identify, sustainably harvest with Chloe using the wild ingredients which are unearthed in a delicious meal she cooks up together with a myriad of pre-prepared foraged dishes brings along.

The four to five hour experience is priced from £150 per person based on a private couples experience, or £95 per person for larger groups. You could be tucking into elderflower-cured side of salmon, venison burgers with homemade brioche buns and wild plum BBQ sauce and woodruff-infused crème caramel.

Firepit Fine Dining

This incredible experience sees private chef Roo transporting her mobile kitchen to Penhein to cook up one of her specially curated menus either served in the open air or under the stretch tent.

Choose from the Noor menu, a nod to Roo’s own half Indian heritage, or the Mehr menu which reflects Penhein’s Persian influences, or honour the Welsh surrounding with the Cwtch menu. Roo will serve guests and there’s no washing up to worry about. Priced from £58 per adult and £28 per child, with a minimum spend of £430.

Roo can also be booked for a Woodland Banquet which encapsules everything about the Persian word ‘mehr’ which means love, friendship and sun. Perfect for larger groups, this feast will be served on platters to be shared under the setting sun in the rolling Welsh hills. From £62 per adult, £28 per child, minimum spend £730.
