A WELSHPOOL man has pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children and is awaiting sentencing at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.
Connor Taylor, 17, of Golfa Hall, Castle Caereinion, appeared in court on March 11, where he admitted three counts of possessing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children, contrary to Section 160 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.
The charges relate to an incident on February 3, 2023, at an address in Heol Dyffryn Avenue, Carmarthen. The court heard that Taylor was found in possession of:
500 Category A images (the most severe classification),
84 Category B images, and
68 Category C images.
Taylor was granted unconditional bail ahead of sentencing, which has been adjourned until April 8, 2025, at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court. The hearing was rescheduled from March 25 at the request of Youth Justice Services (YJS) to allow for a pre-sentence report to assess risk factors and potential ancillary orders.
Magistrates presiding over the case are Miss K Davies, Mr C Jones, and Ms M Radford. The prosecution was led by Lucy Williams.
The Section 49 order of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 applies to the case, restricting the publication of identifying details due to the defendant’s age.
Taylor is required to attend court on April 8 at 10:00am for sentencing.
