RHONDDA CYNON TAF council’s Labour cabinet for next year has been confirmed.
The council’s AGM on Wednesday, May 21 confirmed the cabinet roles for 2025-26.
Councillor Andrew Morgan OBE was re-elected as leader along with deputy leader Councillor Maureen Webber BEM.
Cllr Morgan confirmed the eight cabinet roles and portfolios including himself as leader and cabinet member for infrastructure and investment and Cllr Webber as deputy leader and cabinet member for council business and corporate estate.
Councillor Mark Norris is cabinet member for development and prosperity, Councillor Rhys Lewis is cabinet member for education, inclusion, and the Welsh language, and Councillor Gareth Caple is cabinet member for health and social care.
Councillor Bob Harris is cabinet member for public health and communities, Councillor Ann Crimmings is cabinet member for environment and leisure, and Councillor Tina Leyshon is cabinet member for corporate services, youth participation, and climate change.
Cllr Karen Morgan has also been re-elected as leader of the opposition from the council’s second-largest political group, Plaid Cymru.
Rhondda Cynon Taf council’s presiding officer will continue to be Councillor Ros Davis while the deputy presiding officers will be Councillors Jayne Smith and Barry Stephens.
Councillor Sheryl Evans was elected as mayor for 2025-26 with Councillor Emma Watts elected as deputy mayor.
