The warmth of the welcome overcame the weather as damp conditions did not deter a crowd of schoolchildren and well-wishers from turning out to see the return of troops from 226 Signal Squadron to Haverfordwest on a damp Thursday morning.
Before the parade the soldiers were presented with their campaign medals in the presence of their families by the Mayor of Haverfordwest Cllr Jackie Westrup and senior officers from the armed forces.
Crowds witnessed the soldiers march through our County town from St Thomas Green to Castle Square.
The parade was followed by a reception, hosted by the Mayor, at Cawdor Barracks, Brawdy, where the troops’ service was honoured.
