LANDLINE and ADSL customers in Hakin who were cut off from telephone services when builders accidentally cut a main cable from Milford Haven exchange have now had their services restored – a source close to BT has confirmed.
The Herald understands that hundreds of properties – but not all – were without services for three days.
Contractors constructing a wall outside the new Costa Coffee branch in Milford Haven damaged the cable leaving five telephone cabinets in Hakin without a connection to the exchange.
Customers with fibre optic broadband were not affected by the outage.
Tesco was hit by the coms blackout, but was fixed earlier than Hakin residents, after a fast thinking engineer found another way to route phone services to the supermarket with a temporary patch.

Repair work began at 10pm on Monday night, with a large team of Openreach engineers working overtime to restore service to customers.
