Haverfordwest Ladies Rugby club in appeal for new players

HAVERFORDWEST Ladies Rugby Club has put out an appeal for new players to join their team.

The Club said they were ‘struggling’ with numbers as the new season approaches, adding it was a ‘plea for survival’ of the team.

That was put out on the team’s Twitter page on Friday (Feb 11) and the club has told the Herald they have already had a good response.

There is a huge amount of talent within the team and the likes of Jaz Joyce and Lisa Neumann, who have gone on to play for Wales, also wore the Blue shirt.

In their plea, the club said: “It really doesn’t matter what age you are, how fit you are, whether you’ve played before or never picked up a rugby ball, you will be welcomed with open arms.”

Training takes place at 7pm on Thursdays and games are played on Sunday afternoons.

Haverfordwest begin their season on Sunday, February 20, with a home game against Blaina. That is followed on March 6 by an away visit to Pembrokeshire rivals Pembroke.

Please get in touch with the club if you are interested in joining.
