RENOWNED for his love of golf, Gareth Bale, the former football sensation from Real Madrid and Tottenham, is set to tee off at the Ryder Cup, just months after retiring from football. Following his role in leading Wales at the World Cup in Qatar, Bale now has ample time to refine his golf skills and showcase his passion for the sport on a grand stage.
The sporting world will witness Bale’s return to the limelight as he participates in a celebrity All-Star Match, scheduled later this month at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, located near Rome. This high-profile event will precede the much-anticipated Ryder Cup clash between Team Europe and Team USA.
Gareth Bale is not the only sports icon gracing this golf extravaganza. Tennis legend Novak Djokovic, former Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko, and Formula 1 sensation Carlos Sainz will also join the festivities in the Italian capital.
The star-studded event features ten celebrities divided into two teams of five, each under the captaincy of golf legends Colin Montgomerie and Corey Pavin. Bale, donning Montgomerie’s team colors, is no stranger to competitive golf, having previously participated in the PGA Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier this year.
Speaking about his excitement, Bale stated, “The Ryder Cup is a special event. Having experienced the incredible atmosphere at Europe’s win in 2010, I can’t wait to experience some of that magic again in Rome in a few weeks’ time.”
