League 1 West: Emlyn, Crymych and Aber all pick up wins

NEW League 1 West leaders Newcastle Emlyn earned their fifth win of the season on Saturday (Dec 3) as they beat Llanelli Wanderers 60-24.

Mike Jones (2), Alex Williams, Llyr Jones, Aled Davies and Gethin Davies all scored tries for Emlyn and Shaun Leonard added five conversions as Emlyn led 40-10 at the break.

Further tries were scored by Andrew Owens, Llyr Freeman, Dylan Davies and Elis Rees Lewis as Emlyn completed a comprehensive win.

Second placed Crymych were also victorious as they beat Hendy 24-21. It was 17-14 at half time but Crymych did enough to seal the win.

Tries for Crymych came from Ned bennett, Llyr Davies and Dafydd Phillips while Adam Phillips added three conversions and a penalty.

Aberystwyth earned their fourth win of the season on Saturday (Dec 3) as they beat Llangennech 26-17.

Felinfoel earned a narrow 25-22 win over Gowerton while the game between Penclawdd and Whitland finished 24-24.

It was 24-14 at half time and Whitland fought back in the second half to earn a share of the points.

Liam Price, Jack Mason and Owyn Griffiths all scored tries for the Borderers while the rest of the points came from the boot of Geraint Jones.
