Police appeal as tragedy strikes on A44 near Llandegley, Powys

A DEVASTATING road traffic collision occurred on the A44 near Llandegley, Powys at approximately 10.30am on Thursday, 17 August 2023. Dyfed-Powys Police have since been on the scene, thoroughly investigating the incident that involved multiple vehicles.

The accident involved a striking black and yellow BMW motorcycle, a vibrant purple Mazda campervan, a silver Ford Fiesta, and a silver Mitsubishi L200 pickup. The aftermath of the collision was harrowing for the local community and passers-by.

Heartbreakingly, the male rider of the BMW motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has yet to be disclosed, pending family notification.

The severity of the incident necessitated the road to be closed off for over 13 hours, finally reopening to the public at 11.50pm on the same day.
