A very successful Ladies Day in aid of Paul Sartori Hospice

WOLFSCASTLE COUNTRY HOTEL once again held a very successful Ladies Day on 15th July. This fabulous annual event has so much to offer, there was Pimms on arrival, a fashion show by Vincent Davies Department Store, a make-up demo, complementary therapies by Wolfscastle Country Hotel Spa, afternoon tea and a raffle. Local band Honeyfungus also played throughout the afternoon.

Nicola Gerson originally started the Ladies Day many years back; it was held at her house and was an extravagant garden party. Over the years it has grown in popularity and is now held annually at the bigger venue. This year it was a beautiful, sunny day and everyone dressed to impress. Professional photographer Stefan Ashby from Il Mio Photography was on hand to capture the special moments.

Bethan Evans, Chair of Haverfordwest Ladies Circle said “Paul Sartori Hospice at Home have helped so many people in Pembrokeshire and some of our Ladies Circle family members, this is why we continue this event; to give something back to the charity.”

The event raised an amazing total of £2320.00 for Paul Sartori. The raffle was run by the Haverfordwest Ladies Circle and this made £1120.00 and 50% of the ticket sales were donated from Wolfscastle Country Hotel totalling £1200.00.

“I think that this is a brilliant event to raise money for Paul Sartori whilst having a bit of fun. I personally would like to thank all of the Haverfordwest Ladies Circle and the Wolfscastle Country Hotel for raising £2320.00; which will go towards a range of services for Pembrokeshire people living in the final stages of a life-limiting illness” said Laura Hugman, Clinical Team Manager at Paul Sartori Hospice at Home.

Paul Sartori Hospice at Home provides a range of services to Pembrokeshire people living in the final stages of a life-limiting illness, including home nursing care, equipment loan, complementary therapy, bereavement and counselling support, under 18’s anticipatory grief and bereavement support, physiotherapy, advance care planning and training.

The services provided by the Paul Sartori Hospice at Home enable people in the later stages of any life-limiting illness to be cared for and to die at home with dignity, independence, pain free and surrounded by those they hold most dear, if that is their wish.

All of the services are free of charge and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, thanks to the generosity of the Pembrokeshire Community.
