Pembrokeshire’s first slow marathon

WHAT MAY be the world’s first sponsored slow marathon has been completed by Liz Roach in aid of PATCH.

Many people have taken part in marathons – 26 miles in one day; some have gone further and done 26 marathons in 26 days, but Liz has just completed one.

Running a mile a day from December 1 to Boxing Day, she raised £150 for the local charity PATCH – Pembrokeshire Action to Combat Hardship.

The Milford Haven-based food bank commended Liz’s marathon. Tracy Olin, the charity’s founder, said: “We are so grateful to Liz for doing this and raising such a great amount of money. This will help enable PATCH to keep supporting Pembrokeshire people that are in a financial crisis.”
