Trial for Pembroke Dock bin man accused of obstructing a train at level crossing

A PEMBROKESHIRE COUNCIL bin man will stand trial for allegedly obstructing a train.

He pleaded not guilty at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court today after saying that he was reasonably going about his employment when he held his hand up to stop the train as he and his bin lorry attempted to cross the tracks.

Carl Mason, 30, of Military Road, Pembroke Dock is accused of standing on a level crossing and gesturing for a train to stop at Llanion level crossing on July 21, 2021.

The defendant was not present at court, but his defence solicitor Mr Mike Kelleher entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

The trial date is set for June 22.
