THE MULTIPLE Sclerosis Society is thrilled to announce the appointment of Daf Wyn, prominent S4C presenter, as its first Welsh speaking Ambassador. This landmark appointment highlights the charity’s commitment to reaching and supporting the MS community across Wales.
Daf Wyn, known for his role on S4C’s daily magazine show ‘Heno’, was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS in 2021 at the age of 30. Since his diagnosis, Daf has been an invaluable supporter of MS Society Cymru, leveraging his public profile to raise awareness and funds for the charity.
Shelley Elgin, Country Director, MS Society Cymru, said: “We are delighted to welcome Daf as our first Welsh-speaking Ambassador.
“Daf’s unwavering support has been demonstrated not only by sharing his experience of living with MS but also by being a member of the MS Cymru Council for the last year, advocating for people living with MS here in Wales and raising awareness of MS. This makes Daf a perfect Ambassador to help us reach more people affected by MS.
“He is truly an inspiration. With over 150,000 people in the UK living with MS, including 6,111 in Wales, Daf’s role will be crucial in supporting our mission to improve life for everyone affected by MS through research, campaigning, and support services.”
Ceri Bevan, Community Fundraiser for MS Society Cymru, expressed her enthusiasm about Daf’s new role: “We cannot thank Daf enough for his support and dedication to the MS community in Wales.
“He has shared his story with the people of Wales of living with MS and has raised thousands for our vital support and research for those living with MS”.
Daf’s contributions to MS Society Cymru have been significant and varied:
- Created a Welsh-language film, ‘DRYCH: Byw gyda MS’ (MIRROR: Living with MS), for S4C about his MS diagnosis
- Organised a fundraising music and comedy concert in July 2022, raising over £12,000
- Completed the London Marathon in 2023, raising £6,647 and promoting his training on Heno
- Participated in MS Walk Cardiff for three consecutive years (2021- 2023) with his family
- Supported various fundraising and awareness events, including a Q&A session at Penybont Young Farmers Club
- Member of Cymru Council in Wales

Daf Wyn commented on his appointment: “I’m honoured to become the MS Society’s first Welsh-speaking Ambassador. Living with MS has its challenges, but it’s also shown me the strength of our community.
“I’m excited to continue to use my voice to raise awareness, support others, and contribute to the vital work of the MS Society.”
As an Ambassador, Daf will continue to raise awareness about MS through his media appearances and personal networks. He will also play a crucial role in championing that Welsh-speaking individuals affected by MS have access to information and support in their preferred language.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) affects about 6,111 people in Wales. The funds raised and awareness generated through Daf’s efforts will support crucial services and research to improve the lives of those living with MS.
The MS Society encourages everyone to learn more about MS and consider supporting the vital work of the charity. Your involvement could make a real difference in the lives of those affected by MS.
