Ryan Giggs, the former Manchester United and Wales star, is reportedly set to welcome his third child with his girlfriend, Zara Charles. Giggs, aged 50, and his partner, aged 36, are expecting the new arrival later this year, as reported by The Sun.
Close friends of the couple have expressed their joy and excitement for the impending birth of their child.
Giggs, who has two children, Libby (19) and Zach (17), from his previous marriage to Stacey Cooke, has been in a relationship with Zara since 2021. His children from his first marriage have reportedly developed a positive relationship with Zara over the past few years and are supportive of their father’s happiness. However, they playfully anticipate his potential struggle with early mornings and sleepless nights with a newborn.
Zara, a model, stood by Giggs during his recent legal proceedings. The former footballer faced allegations of controlling or coercive behaviour towards his ex-girlfriend, Kate Greville, and was accused of assaulting Ms Greville and her sister during a disagreement at his residence in Worsley, Greater Manchester, in 2020.
Giggs denied the charges, and after a split jury in the initial hearing, the prosecution decided not to pursue the case further. Following this, Giggs resumed his involvement in football as the director of football at Salford, a club he co-owns with other Manchester United icons. This role marks his return to the football scene after stepping down as the Wales national team manager in June 2022.
