400 trees collected in Christmas tree trial

A TRIAL Christmas tree collection service resulted in over 400 trees being amassed for composting.

The service, funded through a Welsh Government Grant and delivered by Frame meant over 3,000kg of trees were collected and shredded before the composting process began.

“It’s fair to say this trial service was well received and we’re delighted with the amount of trees that were collected,” said Cabinet Member for the Environment, Councillor Huw George.

“The funding allowed us to carry out this trial but just as importantly, it allowed three individuals to be trained in the use of machinery and as a result they have gained valuable experience for the future.”
