Body found following major operation in search for missing man in Manorbier

A BODY has been found following a major multi agency search in the Manorbier area following reports of a missing man.

Police have confirmed that a body has been found near the coastal path at Manorbier.

Dyfed-Powys Police, The Coastguard and the RNLI were all involved in the operation to locate 45-year-old Anthony, who was last seen at around 6pm on Monday Evening (Apr 25).

The search has now been called off.

In a statement released by the police, Anthony was last seen at Manorbier beach walking towards Lydstep along the coast path.

Overnight, residents in the area reported hearing a helicopter searching over the water.

Two RNLI Tenby lifeboats and the Coastguard Rescue 187, were also part of the operation and searched the coastline throughout the day.

The body was discovered this morning (Apr 26) police have confirmed.

Anthony’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A spokesperson said: “Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm that a body was found near the coastal path at Manorbier, Tenby this morning, 26 April 2022.

“The body has not been formally identified as yet, however the family of a 45-year-old man, who had been reported missing in the area, are aware and are being supported by officers.”
