A LARGE-SCALE search and rescue operation is underway this morning at the Llansteffan Estuary.
The body of a man has been found.
It follows a call saying that someone was in difficulty.
Rescuers are searching to see if any other person or persons have entered the water.
A spokesperson for the police told The Carmarthenshire Herald: “There is a large emergency services presence at Llansteffan estuary this morning (Sept 15), responding to reports of someone in difficulty in the water.
“Sadly, the body of a man has been recovered.
“A search and rescue operation is ongoing, it is not clear at this stage if anyone else has entered the water.
“Anyone who has seen anything, or has any information, is urged to contact Dyfed-Powys Police by calling 101.”
