Clynderwen: Police appeal over suspicious package

POLICE are trying to trace the source of a suspicious package which was found by a member of the public in Clynderwen on Friday (May 10).

A bomb disposal team was called in to deal with the incident, but it was later found the package was not explosive.

There were also concerns that the package could have contained chemicals or poison, but police confirmed that no one was injured or became sick after being in contact with the item.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police told The Herald: “We received a report of a suspicious package found by a member of the public in the Rosebush area of Pembrokeshire on the afternoon of Friday May 10.

“Officers attended and assessed the package, and advice was sought from specialist resources.

“The package was safely retrieved to police property, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) requested to attend.

“EOD attended to assess, and confirmed the package was not explosive.

“No one was injured or unwell in connection with the package.

“An investigation is underway to find the source of the package, and anyone with any information, or who has seen anything suspicious in the area of Rosebush and Clynderwen is asked to contact police by calling 101, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111”
