Council ‘ready’ to support Ukrainians affected by war

Pembrokeshire County Council

PEMBROKESHIRE County Council is ‘ready’ to play its part to support the people of Ukraine.

The county previously welcomed Ukrainians after the Chernobyl disaster and Council Leader David Simpson said they were ready to help out once again.

Speaking at the Full Council meeting on Thursday, March 3, the leader also announced that they would be lighting up county hall in Ukraine’s national colours of blue and yellow in a show of ‘solidarity’.

Cllr Mike James added it was ‘heartbreaking’ to see the lives of Ukrainians turned upside down in a matter of hours but paid tribute to their ‘bravery’.
