Four men to be sentenced following violent attack in Milford Haven

FOUR men will be sentenced tomorrow morning (Mar 2) after admitting to violently assaulting a man in Milford Haven last September leaving him unconscious at the roadside.

Callum Nolan, 18, of Herbrandston, Jack Kidby, 18, of Neyland, Connor Babb, 19 of Milford Haven and Benjamin Parry, 20, of Milford Haven all appeared in the dock at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Monday afternoon (Mar 1) to face a charge of ABH.

The court was shown video footage of the assault, which showed the four defendants ‘set upon’ Mr Ryan Millward as he walked down a street in Milford Haven on September 18 of last year.

The footage shows the defendants running after the victim and attacking him from behind, punching and kicking him until he fell unconscious to the ground.

The defendants can then be seen continuously punching the victim to his head and kicking him as he laid unconscious on the floor.

A large group intervened when they realised the victim was unconscious and had to repeatedly pull the defendants away from Mr Millward and restrain them to stop the attack from becoming sustained.

Prosecuting Sian Vaughan told the court that Mr Millwards injuries were only minor due to the fact that others had witnessed the attack and intervened.

Mr Millward was laid unconscious for a number of minutes and had to be helped to his feet.

Defending, Peter Tarr told the court that the defendants were of previous clean character.

Mr Tarr said the defendants were “genuinely remorseful”.

All four defendants pleaded guilty to the charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.

Magistrates adjourned the proceedings so that a pre-sentence report could be compiled by the probation service.

The defendants were released on unconditional bail to reappear tomorrow morning at 10am for sentencing.
