Haverfordwest: Police investigating Priory Ruins rape allegation

POLICE are investigating an allegation that a young woman was raped in the Priory Ruins after enjoying a night out in Haverfordwest on Easter Sunday.

The alleged incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning.

The woman is receiving support from specially trained officers as the investigation unfolds.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating an allegation of rape which occurred in an area in Haverfordwest, known as the Priory Ruins, sometime between 3am and 5.15am, Monday 22nd April 2019.

Detective Chief Inspector Jayne Butler said: “We are treating this extremely seriously.

“The victim is receiving specialist support.”

“We know that a lot of people were out in Haverfordwest and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the specified time to contact us as they may have information that could help the investigation.”
