Major accident shuts A40 just north of Tangiers

A MULTI AGENCY rescue operation is underway on the A40 near Tangiers following a car accident today (Oct 6)

The road is currently closed

A witness told The Pembrokeshire Herald that they saw three ambulances, two police vans and a fire crew at the scene.

UPDATE 15:20 – We can confirm A40 between Withybush Roundabout and the Corner Piece Inn, Rudbaxton, has been closed

UPDATE 17:31 – Police: “We were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A40, Haverfordwest to Wolfscastle, near Rudbaxton, at around 12.30pm today. Two people have been taken to hospital. The road remains closed and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.”

UPDATE 17:32 – Ambulance Service: “”We were called at 12.20pm today, Tuesday, October 6, to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision in the Rubaxton area of Haverfordwest. We sent one rapid response car, two emergency ambulances and the Wales Air Ambulance. One patient was taken by air to University Hospital Wales, Cardiff.”
