Milford Haven: Man tasered and arrested ‘after setting Marble Hall Close bungalow alight’

EMERGENCY services were called to Milford Haven following reports of a man causing damage and in possession of bladed articles. 

On Tuesday, March 15 at approximately 06:15am, Dyfed-Powys Police and Mid and west Wales Fire Service were dispatched to a property in Marble Hall Close, Milford Haven.

Reports claim that the man had set his own property alight whilst intoxicated. Crews from Milford Haven and Haverfordwest Fire Service have stated that the fire had been extinguished upon arrival. They left the scene at 06:43am.

Dyfed-Powys Police also attended the scene of the incident. They attempted to engage with the man. However, his refusal to drop the weapons and non-compliant behaviour led to the requirement for officers to deploy the taser. 

The man was arrested and taken to hospital for medical attention as a precaution. 

The fire service said: “On Tuesday March 15 at approximately 06:15, crews from Milford Haven and Haverfordwest attended a report of a property fire in Milford Haven.  Fire was out on arrival.  Dyfed Powys Police were also in attendance. Fire crews left the scene at 06:43am

A spokesperson for the police told The Herald: “Dyfed-Powys Police was called just after 6am this morning, Tuesday 15th March, 2022, to a report of a man causing damage and in possession of bladed articles in a property in Marble Hall Close, Milford Haven.

“Police attended and tried to engage with the man.

“The man’s refusal to drop the weapons and non-compliant behaviour led to the requirement for officers to deploy Taser. The man was arrested and taken to hospital for medical attention as a precaution.”
