Minimal disruption following overnight snow

WITH moderate snowfall overnight, most living in Pembrokeshire woke to a rather white view this morning (Feb 1).

However, conditions are much better than anticipated, and few incidents have been reported.

Primary and secondary routes in Pembrokeshire have been gritted overnight, with secondary routes just being completed now.

A lorry is currently gritting the New Inn to Fishguard road via Morvil.

The County Council is maintaining lorries in depots, monitoring the network and addressing any problematic areas where possible.

The only school closure report is Maenclochog.

The focus remains on primary routes first and secondary routes to maintain the network open.

Ploughing on the mountain road was undertaken overnight and the B4329 remains closed. The road will be reassessed at first light and a decision taken on opening it.

The advice, as always, is to take extreme care on the roads and to avoid making journeys in adverse weather conditions.
