Neyland Brownies give flowerbed new lease of life

A flowerbed at Neyland Marina has been given a new lease of life after it was taken over by the town’s Brownies.

The bed had become overgrown and neglected and the Brownies, led by ‘snowy owl’ leader Samantha Evans-Browning, have totally transformed it.

The Town Council happily gifted the area to them and the girls then made posters, asking for donations of flowers or money to buy what was needed.

The girls have also learnt how to plant and look after flowers and even added some hand-painted sun catchers.

The Brownies will now keep the area maintained and they have also thanked everyone who donated plants or money to help them with their project.

All plants purchased with the money donated were purchased from Honeyborough Garden Centre while Merit in Dolphin Quay has kindly allowed the Brownies to use their water supply to water them.

A spokesperson for the Brownies said: “We hope you all enjoy seeing the flowers on your walks, we will try our best to keep it looking pretty for you all year round and adding little surprises in here and there for the children to enjoy.”
