Pembroke Dock: Defendant jailed for bringing a knife to court

A PEMBROKE DOCK man has been jailed after turning up to court carrying a craft knife.

Wayne Steven Davies, 30, of Water Street, was sent down after being found with a blade at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on 12 March. He was arrested on the court premises and was back in court facing the charge the next day.

After admitting the offence on Wednesday (Mar 13) he was jailed for 26 weeks. “The offence was aggravated by the defendant’s record” magistrates said.

Davies was due in court to be sentenced for beating Peter Harrison in Pembroke Dock on October 4 last year, whilst on a suspended sentence when the blade was found on him.

The charge was brought under S.139(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.

Davies was also given another week in custody concurrently for using threatening or abusive behaviour in Haverfordwest on November 10.

Davies was represented in court by Jonathan Webb.
