Pembrokeshire castle’s ‘I’m A Celebrity’ rumour denied

CAREW CASTLE have denied being in the running to host ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’.

Pre-coronavirus, the show was set in an Australian jungle, but producers had to re-think about safe filming locations due to international travel restrictions.

After Gwrych Castle in north Wales was confirmed as the setting for the show’s 20th series, a number of rumours started to circulate that other welsh castles, including Carew could have been potential settings.

The castle which is run by Pembrokeshire Coast National Parks, is set just off the roundabout at Carew on the busy A477.

One source wrongly told The Herald that the castle turned down the offer due to congestion worries on the small village.

Carew Castle confirmed to the Herald they were never approached.

A National Park Authority spokesperson said: “The Authority did not receive an approach from the producers of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here regarding Carew Castle.”
