Pembrokeshire County Council leader’s coronavirus update, May 1st

PCC County Hall

Pembrokeshire County Council Leader, Councillor David Simpson,
has provided a further coronavirus update for Friday, 1 st May, as
follows:

‘Today is the start of a new month, a time for us all to look forward to
better days.

‘I am sure you will all have seen updates from the Government
regarding lockdown. It is clear that the lockdown continues and we all
have a major role to play in ensuring that the spread of this virus is
contained.

‘I’m sure that at times you have all felt like a parrot in a cage, being
stuck at home, wanting to get out and about and explore
Pembrokeshire once again. However, now is not the time to return to
normal. We need to stick to the Government advice.

‘As I have highlighted previously, the time to explore and visit our
beauty spots is not now.

‘Today I want to pay a tribute to the emergency services. They have
continued to ensure that our communities are kept safe while
delivering the “blue light” response and dealing with issues as they
come in.

‘I’m sure that I can extend a message of gratitude to all of them from
everyone in Pembrokeshire. Thank you.

‘I am however aware that in some places we are experiencing some
anti-social behaviour issues. Please, I urge you all to consider the
impact you have on your communities and your neighbours. Now is
the time to support each other, not add extra tension.
‘I want to wish you all a happy weekend with a reminder that next
Friday, 8 th May, will be the 75 th Anniversary of VE day and is a Bank
Holiday.

‘Remember: stay at home, stay safe and save lives.
