Motorists warned about roads covered in glass

A LORRY which was carrying glass bottles for recycling has lost a significant amount of its load across Pembrokeshire roads this morning (Feb 14).

Glass has been reported between Begelly and Pentlepoir, as well as from Templeton to the Haverfordwest roundabout.

Dyfed-Powys Police are at the scene and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Drivers please avoid the A477 Kilgetty roundabout, Begelly and Pentlepoir.

“There has been a substantial amount of glass fallen from a lorry onto the roads. Officers are at scene, however due to the large service area of the issue, there continues to be a lot of disruption/danger.”

“Glass is also on the road from Templeton up towards the Haverfordwest roundabout, A40 westbound. Our traffic units are at scene and PCC’S Road sweepers have been deployed.”

Paul Colman said on Facebook warning locals: “Everyone stay clear of Pentlepoir..skip lorry just lost half its content of recycling glass bottles over 1/2 a mile of northbound A478 lane towards Kilgetty!
