Police continue to investigate as one of two girls injured discharged from hospital

DYFED-POWYS POLICE has said it is continuing to investigate a road traffic collision which occured at Rectory Avenue, Hakin, Milford Haven on Friday (Jul 22).

The Herald understands that the handbrake on a parked vehicle failed, and it rolled back into a group for four children playing on the grass area on the opposite side of the road. Two of the girls were injured, two managed to get out of the way, a witness said.

The two girls were taken by two seperate air ambulances to hospital, it was confirmed.

A spokesperson from police headquarters in Carmarthen said: “One of the girls has been discharged, while the other remains in hospital at this time.

“Inquiries are ongoing in relation to the cause of the collision.”

A spokesperson for the Wales Air Ambulance Charity said on Friday night: “We can confirm we attended an incident in the Hakin area today, July 22,” said an air ambulance spokesperson. We sent two aircraft to the scene.

“Following treatment from our on-board consultant and critical care practitioners, we airlifted two patients to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

“Our involvement concluded at 3:02pm.”
