Pembroke Dock: Protest planned following concerns of animal suffering

WORRIED residents in Pembroke and Pembroke Dock are organising a protest at a local farm where they believe that there still animals suffering or in danger, despite over 200 being removed in a multi-agency sting earlier this month.

The police have said they are making preperations to police the demo.

There was recently a major two day operation Bramble Hall farm, Ferry Lane, on January 29-30 which saw authorities take control of the animals in a multi-agency response, following reports from concerned neighbours.

Locals are taking actions into their own hands, the Herald understands, after a local has alleged that the farm owners still have possession of animals.

The planned protest is taking place outside the Farm premises on Friday (Feb 15) at 4pm, with protesters meeting on the area adjacent to the new Ysgol Harri Tudor school site.

Taking to Facebook, residents have posted that the protest must remain peaceful with ‘no threats’ and ‘no violence’ if they want to be successful in their efforts.

They are hoping to get any remaining animals removed from the farm, and are calling for weekly visits to ensure that this is being adhered to.

A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police has said “Police are aware of mention on social media in relation to a possible protest.

“Preparations are being made accordingly, and we would welcome the opportunity to engage with anyone involved in organising such activity.”
