Reports of person with knife send police rushing to fun fair

POLICE units, including firearms officers, were dispatched to the fun fair at Milford Haven Docks on Monday night (Aug 24) following reports of a person in possession of a knife.

Police made enquiries and confirmed that there was no knife, but are currently investigating an alleged incident of assault, criminal damage, and a public order offence.

One person was arrested.

A police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 7.15pm we received a report of someone in possession of a knife in the Milford Docks area.
“Firearms officers were sent to the area, and it was confirmed there was no knife.
“Officers also dispersed a large group of young people, who had gathered as a result of the police activity.
“One person was arrested and released under investigation.”

The police also said that although the fun fair closed immediately after the incident that they did not close the funfair.

The Herald would like to further clarify that the fun fair is now back open, is safe to attend, and the incident which took place is  no fault of the fun fair owners.
