NATION RADIO afternoon presenter Tommo is leaving Radio Ceredigion, Radio Carmarthenshire, Radio Pembrokeshire and Bridge FM after just over a year.
He left BBC Cymru to join Nation Broadcasting to host the afternoon show across their multiple stations in 2018.
He posted on Facebook: “Bore da good morning, i would like to take this opportunity to thank my loyal radio listeners for supporting me over the last 24 years. I will now be pursuing a different avenue in my career in the world of entertainment which will be exciting. I would like to thank everyone who i’ve worked with over the years, it’s been a blast! In the words of Frank Sinatra ‘To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way’ !
So, onwards and upwards to a new chapter, diolch, see and speak to you soon, Tommo.”
It doesn’t seem so long ago since Tommo posted on Facebook about his decision to leave the BBC. Last year Tommo said: “At the end of last week, the latest listening figures for Radio Cymru were published, and I was so glad to see that the latest listening figures for my afternoon show were the highest they’ve been since I first joined BBC Radio Cymru in 2014.
“Thanks ever so much to all those who have been tuning in and who have supported me during that time.
“It’s good to know that the station’s listening figures are still improving, under the leadership of Editor Betsan Powys and her hardworking team. As I close the door on one chapter in my life, and open another, I wish BBC Radio Cymru all the best for the future, and also send my best wishes to whoever will take over as presenter of the afternoon slot on the station.”
His last show on the BBC was at 2 till 5pm on March 29, 2018.
