Valero ‘incredibly arrogant’ says AM

valeroVALERO have been branded ‘incredibly arrogant’ after failing to attend a meeting about pipeline repairs which lead to the closure of the A48 near Nantycaws.

Adam Price AM said that there has been a ‘total lack of engagement’ regarding the situation from the owners of the Pembroke Refinery after they failed to attend a meeting last night (Dec 8).

The meeting was scheduled to discuss the closure of the A48 and the oil spill which has polluted the Nant Pibwr river.

In total, 30 local residents attended the meeting, along with personnel from Natural Resources Wales and the council.

Valero have said that they have been ‘in constant contact’ with residents in the area who have been affected by the road works and oil spill in a statement.

They also state that they are working with the council ‘regarding making a donation to support a project or projects in the local area.

“This is our way of saying thank you to them for their patience and understanding throughout the incident,” the company says.

Adam Price, the AM for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr, said that local residents have undergone ‘terrible stress and anxiety’.
