Llansannan farm building could become holiday-let

Applicant Mr David Jones has applied to Conwy County Council’s planning department, seeking permission to convert an outbuilding at Ty Mawr, Groes, Llansannan, into a two-storey, two-bedroom holiday cottage.

A FARM building could soon be converted into holiday accommodation in Llansannan.

Applicant Mr David Jones has applied to Conwy County Council’s planning department, seeking permission to convert an outbuilding at Ty Mawr, Groes, Llansannan, into a two-storey, two-bedroom holiday cottage.

The proposed holiday let is set to include an existing stone garage as a bat loft – if planning permission is granted.

The conversion will incorporate the 192-square-metre building’s existing natural stone walls, slate roof, and hardwood timber doors and will include parking.

The ‘L-shaped’ barn building is currently divided into individual rooms, bays, and storerooms with inter-connecting interior doorways with separate exterior doorways.

The building has been used in recent years for storage but is in a poor condition following leaks.

“The proposal would create a peaceful rural holiday accommodation in this beautiful area of Wales,” a planning statement reads.

“The building could be used by individuals, couples, families, and their well-behaved pets.

“There are acres of wildlife-friendly gardens with far-reaching countryside views over the valley, which we would also encourage our holiday guests to use to enhance their relaxing holiday experience.”

According to the planning application, the development would not create any jobs.

The plans will be discussed at a future planning committee meeting at Bodlondeb.
