PLANS for a new glamping site at Bodfari have been unveiled in an area of breath-taking natural beauty.
Mr M. Evans of Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd has applied to Denbighshire County Council, seeking planning permission for glamping units at Berth Farm, near the junction at Dre Goch to Ty Gwyn at Bodfari, Denbigh.
Mr Evans is seeking permission for two glamping ‘A-framed units’ at the 6,046 square metres of vacant grazing land.
Parking is also included in the plans which will, according to the planning application, create two full-time and three-part time jobs.
Neighbours are yet to be consulted.
A planning statement reads: “Berth Farm has been run by the family for decades with a variety of enterprises at different times in response to industry and market changes over that period.
“Berth Farm is situated adjacent to the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty area on the edge of the rural village of Bodfari and enjoys truly breath-taking views of the surrounding countryside.
“The proposed site at Berth Farm enjoys truly splendid views. The farm itself consists of one farmhouse dwellings together with an array of outbuildings, agricultural land, and livestock. The current farming activity generates a small income to the owners who now wish to diversify and increase their revenue to ensure Berth Farm is maintained to a suitable requirement.”
The planning application will likely be discussed at a future planning committee meeting at Denbighshire’s Ruthin County Hall HQ.
