FARM buildings could be transformed into a holiday let, despite concerns about noise and the behaviour of guests.
Robert and Frances Burn applied to Denbighshire Council’s planning department, seeking permission to convert the outbuildings at Bryn Penllyn Farm, Llandrillo, Corwen.
The applicant wants to convert and extend the buildings to form the holiday let, which will include the installation of a ground-source heat pump, solar panels to the roof, the erection of a ‘lean-to bat roost’ on an adjacent barn, and parking.
If granted, the extension will be added to the western end of a barn, which will be finished in timber cladding with corrugated roofing.
The rear elevation is proposed to have patio doors and a large roof light and will open up to the rear onto a decking area.
If agreed, a bat mitigation shed will also be located adjoining the central barn.
Planning officers are recommending councillors grant the application, despite four objections relating to the potential behaviour of guests, loss of privacy and noise.
The plans are set to be debated at a planning committee meeting at Denbighshire Council’s Ruthin County Hall HQ on Wednesday, May 12.
