PLANS have been submitted which could see 200 new homes built in Deeside.
Housebuilder Persimmon Homes has applied to Flintshire Council to develop an area of land off Welsh Road in Garden City.
If approved, the scheme will see a range of two to four-bedroom properties created as part of Northern Gateway strategic development.
The proposals will include 4.4 acres of public open space, with the homes set to have solar panels, air-source heat pumps and electric vehicle chargers installed.
Road improvements have also been outlined, as well as a financial contribution towards the conservation of lapwing birds at the Burton Mere Wetlands Reserve on the Dee Estuary.
Meanwhile, the company said the wider development would result in around £1m being paid to fund improvements to both Hawarden High School and Sealand Primary School.

“With the need for new housing rightly high up the political agenda, we’re pleased to be working with Flintshire County Council and local stakeholders to deliver homes for first-time buyers, families and downsizers alike.”
A decision will be made on the plans by the local authority at a later date.
