South Caernarfon Creameries celebrated St David’s Day by touring the UK

WALES’S leading dairy co-operative, South Caernarfon Creameries (SCC) celebrated St David’s Day by visiting the UK’s leading supermarket headquarters to share the delights of Dragon cheese and butter.

As part of the Welsh Government’s Bwyd a Diod Cymru programme to celebrate St. David’s Day, the SCC team visited the head offices of Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury’s, shining a spotlight on Welsh produce and celebrating the rich tapestry of Welsh producers.

The Bwyd a Diod Cymru programme aims to cultivate a thriving and dynamic food and drink sector in Wales that’s recognised worldwide for its excellence.

Beginning their St David’s day activities in Wales with the Castell Howell trade show in the south, they then onto Welwyn Garden City, Leeds, Bradford, London meeting with key decision makers of some of the UK’s largest retailers. It was a whistle stop tour before returning back to Wales for the Castell Howell and Harlech trade shows in the north.

Dragon cheese was also sent around the world to the British Embassy in Turkey and India for St David’s Day events.

Kirstie Jones, SCC’s Marketing Manager said, “Together with other remarkable Welsh producers, we embarked on this adventure to share the story of our Dragon brand – a symbol of Welsh heritage, craftsmanship, and the unparalleled dedication of our farmers.

“It was a moment of pride for us to represent the essence of Wales, showcasing our beloved Welsh cheese and butter, and to share how these products are a testament to the quality and passion that goes into every bite.

“We would like to thank to Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Sainsbury’s and the Welsh Government for making this experience possible. Here’s to many more opportunities to share great produce from Wales with everyone.”
