NHS Wales releases disused properties for auction sale

BidX1, the online auction specialist, has been appointed by NHS Wales to sell several disused freehold properties in North West Wales including a former hospital complex in Pwllheli, a former clinic building in Pwllheli town centre, and the former Ruthin Health Centre in Ruthin.

All three properties are scheduled for online auction on 25th April.

The former Pwllheli Health Centre is a substantial complex of low-rise buildings laid out in a grid pattern occupying a 1-acre site fronting the main A497, in a residential area at the edge of Pwllheli town centre.

Pwllheli is a seaside town on the southern tip of the Llyn Peninsula in Gwynedd, North West Wales, with a busy modern marina and several beautiful beaches.

The property itself has been closed for six years but its location and size may lend itself to a residential development, subject to obtaining the necessary consents. BidX1 has listed the property with a Guide Price of £250,000+.

Meanwhile, in the heart of Pwllheli town centre, the former Cilan Clinic on Penlan Street is an attractive mid-terrace stone building dating from the 1880s, with a large private carpark to the rear which offers potential for extension. The property is being offered with a guide price of £125,000.

The former Ruthin Health Centre lies within the centre of this historic town, on a site offering extensive views across the nearby hills. The property is constructed on two levels with a former ambulance station fronting School Road, above which is a two-storey clinic set back from Mount Street. There is considerable new residential development underway in the immediate vicinity, with potential for demolition of the existing 1960s-era property and redevelopment on the site. BidX1 has listed the property with a Guide Price of £115,000+.

Simon Riggall, Director at BidX1, commented“All three properties have been disused for some years and are suitable for development and change-of-use proposals. As with all BidX1 sales, bidding on the day will be shown in real-time on the platform, so viewers will be able to watch the auction live from the property listing page.”
